CAC - Symposia Abstract Submission

We have set no limit on the number of possible accepted symposia; applications are encouraged.

A symposium proposal can request 90 or 120 minutes, depending on the number of presenters.

Symposia should include a brief thematic overview presentation by the organizer, 3 or 4 individual presentations (depending on whether 90 or 120 minutes is requested), and an optional discussant. The organizer can serve as the discussant, or another named discussant can be included.

The recommended length of time allows for 15-20 minute talks depending on whether a discussant is included, but this target can be adjusted by symposium organizers as needed. Organizers are expected to chair the symposium and can handle how/when audience questions are allowed, although we strongly encourage allowing enough time for audience participation.

The submission must be accompanied by a 400 word (maximum) proposal summary that includes a general description of symposium theme and a brief description of each presentation and how it fits into the theme. In addition, each individual presentation in the symposium must provide author(s) with affiliations, a title, contact information, and an approximately 250 word abstract.

If a symposium proposal is not accepted, each of the proposed participants can indicate a willingness to convert their presentation to an individual submission by checking the corresponding box for each symposium paper in the submission portal.
